France’s leading port and ranked in 4th place for tonnage among Northern European ports

HAROPA PORT has connections to every continent based on an international shipping offering in the first rank (in the top 20 of the world’s most connected ports). It serves an extensive hinterland whose heart is along the Seine Valley and the Paris area, which together form the biggest consumer market in France and the second biggest in Europe, with 25 million consumers.

Today, HAROPA PORT is France’s number 1 logistics hub, offering an end-to-end, holistic and decarbonised range of services.

From Le Havre to Paris, the port complex possesses a total of over 16,000 hectares of area and 12 million sq. m. of warehousing space available along the Seine Axis.
Its annual maritime and river activity stands at 106m tonnes, generating €7.3m in value along with 160,000 jobs.

HAROPA PORT’s ambitions

  • To build a highly effective logistics system of reference at the service of customers and partners,

  • To develop massified transport modes (rail, river, pipeline) to and from HAROPA PORT,

  • To make the port industrial areas of the Seine Axis ports primary locations for France’s industrial redevelopment,

  • To make innovation a lever for enhanced performance and competitivity,

  • To develop efforts to decarbonise and pursue measures to further the ecological and energy transition,

  • To help make the Seine Valley an attractive region for tourism.

Validated in March 2022 by the Supervisory Board of HAROPA PORT, the 2020-2025 Strategic Project  sets the goal of making the Seine Axis Major River-  and Seaport a maritime and river port complex in the very first rank.
